THE WORD

IN THE YEAR …25

On we go then, burrowing our way into this new year dated 2025. I am reminded of the Zager and Evans #1 hit song of 1969, ‘In The Year 2525’? Both dates have a certain related ring to them.

This is them on the left!. The song warned of the dangers of technology, portraying a future in which the human race was destroyed by its own technological and medical innovations…

…But, back to the year 2025 and all that it has to offer us as we write and sing and stand up for a future we can all be part of!

The lively thread of our live microphone and other song and spoken word events, is set to weave its way through 2025!  Check out the following pages for invigorating and inspiring live microphone events, GB Summer Arts Festival Events, a special Butler reunion gig and the first Acid on the Microphone gig for the year featuring Redwood Reider.

So, to the microphone everyone! It’s a community thing. It’s about the word and the song and the promise of our humanity. Check out the events outlined here and let’s meet up somewhere along the way.

Peace

Another Bend in the Road

May the dawn be your early morning light
And may the passing darkness
Be lost to your distant sight

May all the snow be white on your door step
And the red and scarlet stains
Find no reason to be kept

May you seek to obey your humble heart
And know the good of the land
The blessing burning in your hearth

May you cast off this vanity and pride
And walk that humble highway
Where there is nothing to hide

May the sound of all your grief and sorrows
Fade like a valley echo
Etched lightly on tomorrow

May the cry and plea of your eyes and mouth
Be carried by the river
Way down to the Father’s house

May all the joy and the song of laughter
Ring gayly from your own heart
Even on the morning after

May you be that new creation promised
Like the hope of all your dreams
Gone, all that once was blemished

May your road always have another bend
Mystery around the corner
These are the days without end
