THE RETURN OF THE DANGEROUS MICROPHONE
It’s back after a wee break! Original songwriters and singers, musicians, covers artists, poets and story tellers all combine in a massive display of local talent and courageous performance at the weekly DANGEROUS MICROPHONE. A live mic event like no other. Add in The Dangerous Kitchen’s fantastic food and beverage service, their adorable hosts and hostesses and you have a night in town to beat all others! We pass the koha bowl to support our performers on the 30 Minutes of Glory evenings. Here’s the programme!
Wednesday 29 January
DANGEROUS MICROPHONE 6.00pm – 8.00pm. 30 Minutes of Glory featuring PETE FLYNN PROJECT from 8.00pm.
This locally-based acoustic indie folk band are proud of their mix of seventies influences and their own originality. They perform covers as well as original songs espousing the joys of love and all the human things we carry along the way. The crew consists of singer/ songwriter Pete Flynn, guitarist/ poet Neal Bonner, vocals and bass guitar Paula Brocklesby and Ken Coburn on drums. DANGEROUS MICROPHONE 6.00pm – 8.00pm. 30 Minutes of Glory featuring Andrew Lockwood from 8.00pm.
Andrew is a travelling journeyman and songwriter from the UK, performing acoustic originals alongside other artists’ work; sharing and celebrating the healing joy of music. Intimate and inviting songs are crafted with honest, sensitive lyrics upon a guitar / vocal canvas. His evolving musical tapestry includes performances at various folk clubs, festivals and house gatherings, alongside festival circuit volunteering support.
