THE WORD
Building Bridges
Building bridges across the chasm of differing opinions and belief. That’s the art of creating community. And bridges are constructed by poems and songs and stories that weave love and understanding into the fabric of our relationships. There is no need to denigrate another person because their beliefs or opinions are not the same as ours. Love is the power of the people. And THE OPEN MICROPHONE is one tool of the bridge builder.
So, the tasks is to build bridges in October at The Dangerous Kitchen in Takaka where glory abounds. And let’s build bridges at the monthly gathering of live poets and musicians at The Mussel Inn in Onekaka. And let’s build bridges at NgAna’s Gallery in Collingwood where a feast of food, poem and song awaits.
That’s it. Love to see you out and about at one of these bridge building gatherings….
Peace and love

Rachel says, “I am a singer/songwriter living in the Bay. Music has been a pillar of life for me since I was a child, and my mum taught me piano. Now, I express my connection to God through song, often playing at faith gatherings or just with friends. I enjoy music that touches the human spirit and carries themes of hope and healing.”
