introducing SESSION PLAYING

In our 30 Minutes of Glory slot, Diana Ni Hiceadha, Piotr Pawitojc and Kushla Callinan will delight and introduce the community gathered behind the Dangerous Microphone to SESSION PLAYING.

Session playing involves the whole ‘audience’. It is unplugged and no amplification. The boundary between ‘performer’ and ‘audience’ is removed. There is no stage. We all sit together so that there is no ‘us and them’ divide.

The SESSION PLAYING will be orchestrated in such a way that that all who have shared a song during the open mic session can take part. There will be some instruments available for those who would like to join in too.

The songs chosen for the SESSION PLAYING will be easy for people to play along and join in with. This participation helps build up an understanding of hoe SESSION PLAYING works in terms of the oral and aural traditions

This SESSION PLAYING community gathering at the DANGEROUS KITCHEN offers an exciting opportunity for us all to enjoy and participate in our own 30 MINUTES OF GLORY. Love to see you there.
