EMMA CALLAGHAN – SECOND IN NZ POETRY SLAM
Golden Bay poet Emma Callaghan placed second in the NZ Poetry Slam Final held in Auckland at the end of last month. She was representing Nelson/Golden Bay region and wow, did she do us all proud! We are over the moon. This is the highest placing we have ever had since sending reps to the national finals from 2011 onwards.
Congratulations to Emma who also placed second in our regional final but got to represent us because regional winner Redwood Reider could not make it. Emma also made the National Finals last year and won The Spirit of the Slam Award.
This spoken word art form is empowering to perform and inspiring, entertaining and engaging for the audience.
